On August 27, 2021 the cellular company T-Mobile announced they had learned of a cyber attack against more than 50 million of their customers. The attack compromised personal information such as social security number (SSN), name, address, date of birth, and driver's license numbers. The attack also allowed hackers to swap SIM cards, giving the hackers ability to access and transfer over $8 million in cryptocurrency from T-Mobile customers.
