A seven-month investigation was carried out by Guidepost Solutions, an independent company hired by the Executive Committee after delegates at last year's national meeting called for an outside investigation.
The investigative report says that top SBC leaders have prevented and smeared survivors of clerical sexual abuse for two decades while seeking to protect their own reputations. The most recent list includes the names of HUNDREDS of abusers believed to be affiliated with SBC at any given time.
The report concluded that allegations of sexual abuse and assault were filed in a confidential filing at SBC headquarters in Nashville. He had more than 700 cases. Not only have they done nothing to stop these predators from continuing their hellish crimes, but staffers are said to have not even hired people to ask how to prevent their children from being sexually abused by a minister. Instead of a database to protect victims of sexual abuse, the report reveals that these leaders have a database to protect themselves.
